An important part of the trekking experience is seeing how these people live. While trekking, you can observe and learn about day-by-day activities and a lifestyle that is close to the land and very different from the West. Although trekkers have impacted life in the foothills of the Himalayas, you can still observe traditional methods of farming, cooking, trades, child rearing, construction, and religious activities. The trails are generally well maintained and are actively used by the Nepalese for communication, trades, and travel You will share the trail with many pack animals [burros] and hard-working porters who carry a heavy load of supplies, much of which is consumed by trekkers. While trekking you will also see the great diversity of Nepal. Villages embrace many ethnic groups and cultures.
The season starts from late September till May, as the monsoon begins in early June and continues up to early September. After the monsoon, the visibility is very good,d and the festivals Dashain and Tihar are observed throughout the country during this time.
January and February are extremely cold at higher altitudes and there is snowfall too. These months offer excellent trekking for well-equipped groups or for those who remain at lower elevations.
Late February/March is the beginning of spring in Nepal, with hillsides covered with wildflowers and rhododendrons above 2000m. The mountain views are excellent, and the temperature is quite moderate, even during the night.
Late April and May are hot in lower areas. The visibility is poor, and high altitude treks are suitable in this season.

Trekking Equipment
Sleeping Bag
You'll probably want a high-quality down bag like this one from Mountain equipment shop.
A fiberfill bag will be warm enough except in late December and January Insulated jacket
It's cold up there; be sure you have a warm, insulated jacket; if you're not going high, a lighter jacket will be enough. You won't need one in April and May.
Fleece jacket
Fleece is light and stays warm even when wet. Try a windproof version
Daypack (Backpack)
If you have a porter, you'll need only a daypack. If you're carrying all your gear, you'll need a larger pack
Extra equipment
Water Bottle
Don't forget this. Forget all the complicated stuff; buy a good Nalgene bottle that does not leak and take it to bed as a hot water bottle.
Flashlight or Torch
A small hand-carry flashlight is a good choice. Be sure to put a string on it so you don't drop it.
Many people prefer a headlamp - which is easier to use when you are reading and in bed (and you don't risk dropping it into the toilet!).
Walking shoes
High-top shoes provide ankle support. But many people prefer lighter, low-top shoes.
Boots
Boots are a better choice if you are going to high altitudes, Here is the women's version
Less expensive rainwear
You can also wear a poncho, which is more remarkable in hot weather, sunglasses, or goggles. Get a pair with side shields like these, Shorts, Shirts and hats
Socks
Pocket Knife, Preferably with scissors, Sandals for Camp wear
Walking Stick
A single walking stick
Or a pair of poles
Navigation Aids
Altimeter
Or an inexpensive GPS

Medication
Consult your physician and update vaccinations for Cholera, Typhoid, Tetanus, and Hepatitis before traveling. While not required for entry into Nepal, inoculations are recommended. For Hepatitis, take the Hemoglobin injection close to departure. Stay prepared to ensure a safe and healthy trip.
Altitude Sickness
Altitude sickness occurs above 3,000 meters due to low oxygen and pressure. Symptoms include headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath, worsening over time. Prevent by acclimatizing, walking slowly, drinking fluids, and avoiding alcohol or smoking. Severe cases may require immediate descent, oxygen, or medications like Diamox and steroids.
Insurance
Travel insurance covering baggage loss, accidents, trip cancellations, and emergency evacuations is strongly recommended. Trip cancellation insurance should cover non-recoverable expenses and medical emergencies. Ensure your policy includes high-altitude evacuations to safeguard against unexpected situations during your trip.
